What is the system requirement for the CD-ROM? |

How to install the CD-ROM? |
|
| A: |
Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive and wait for a few seconds. The installation wizard will be launched and it will guide you through the installation process. In the event of non-activation of installation wizard, you may refer to the Installation Procedure section provided on the CD-ROM cover which provides the detailed steps for installation. |

How do I know the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive that I'm using? |

| A: |
Insert your CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Wait for 5 seconds. Go to Windows Explorer. Look out for the drive with the text "YellowYY" (where YY refers to the year of the CD-ROM edition). The drive letter is on the right of the word "YellowYY".
For example : If you see Yellow06 (Z:), then "Z" is the drive letter. |

Can I still install the latest Yellow Pages CD-ROM if I have already installed previous versions of the Yellow Pages CD-ROM? |

Yes, you may install different versions of the CD-ROMs on the same PC. In such cases, it would be advisable to install the older versions of the CD first before installing the later versions, in forward chronological order. |

Can I run the CD-ROM on Macintosh? |

Currently we do not support the running of the CD-ROM on Macintosh. |

After installation, is the CD-ROM still required? |

| A: |
For Yellow Pages 2006/2007 CD-ROM, the CD-ROM is required if you have chosen "minimum installation". If you chose "Full installation", the CD-ROM will not be required after installation. |

Can I download or view the full database of the CD-ROM? |

| A: |
You can browse and search all the listings in the database using the CD-ROM application. However, you will not be able to access the database directly or copy the data, as this is the intellectual property of Yellow Pages (Singapore) Limited and has been protected from unauthorised access. |

Can I access the Web Directory Map directly through Internet instead of through the CD-ROM? If yes, what's the url? |

Installation

During installation of Yellow Pages 2006/2007 CD-ROM, I am asked to choose between "Minimal Installation" and "Full Installation". Which one should I choose? |
|
| A: |
"Minimal Installation" only installs the minimal set of files needed to run the application and will require only 200 MB of hard disk space. After installation, please note that CD-ROM is still required for retrieval of information. On the other hand, "Full Installation" will copy the files to your hard disk so that you will not need to use the CD-ROM when retrieving information. This will require approximately 650 MB hard disk space. |

Running Application

Upon starting the application, the following message is displayed :
"The application runs only on small fonts." |

| A: |
The application requires Windows to be in small font. To set the PC to small font, do the following :
a) Click on "Start" button, select "Settings" followed by "Control Panel".
b) Double-click on "Display".
c) Click on "Settings" tab.
d) Click on 'Advanced…" button.
e) For the "Font size" input, select "Small fonts". (Some Windows versions may require you to choose "Normal size (96 dpi)" for "DPI setting" instead).
f) Click "OK".
This procedure may vary slightly on different versions of Windows. |

After clicking on Yellow Pages 2006 option on the first screen, encountered the following message : "Please insert Yellow Pages 2006/2007 CD-ROM before commencing search." |

Insert the Yellow Pages CD into the CD-ROM drive and rerun the application. |

The graphics display in the CD-ROM is very grainy and coarse. Why? |

You may have set your graphics display to 8 bit (256 colors). Try setting it to 16 bit or above as follows :
a) Click on "Start" button, select "Settings" followed by "Control Panel".
b) Double-click on "Display".
c) Click on "Settings" tab.
d) For the "Color Palette" input, select "High Color (16 bit)".
e) Click "OK".
This procedure may be slightly different for different Windows system. |

When I run the CD, I can only see part of the CD-ROM window on the screen. What do I need to do? |
|
| A: |
The CD is best viewed at a screen resolution of at least 800x600 pixels. To set your screen resolution, follow steps below:
a) Quit from the CD-ROM first.
b) Click on "Start" button, select "Settings" followed by "Control Panel".
c) Double-click on "Display".
d) Click on "Settings" tab.
e) For the "Color Palette" input, select "High Color (16 bit)".
f) For the "Screen area" input, set it to "800 by 600 pixels" (or higher if supported by your system).
g) Click "OK".
h) You will be prompted by Windows, such as: "Windows will resize your desktop. …" Click "OK", and your screen resolution will change.
i) You will be prompted by Windows, such as: "You have resized your desktop. Do you want to keep this setting?" If the screen display looks ok, click on "Yes". The new setting is done.
j) Now, you can run the CD-ROM, and you should be able to see the whole CD-ROM window.
This procedure may differ slightly for different Windows system.

Uninstallation
| Q: |
When I select the uninstall option, the uninstaller prompted me whether I want to remove shared component. Should I? |
|
| A: |
Normally, it is recommended not to remove the shared component unless you are very sure that it is exclusively installed for the application.
To retain the shared component, you may select either <No> or <No to All>. If you select <No>, the system will retain that particular shared file. The prompting will then be repeated for each shared file encountered. If you select <No to All>, the system will retain all remaining shared files and no more prompts pertaining to the shared files will be displayed. |

Is Internet connectivity required for the use of CD-ROM? |

Internet connectivity is required only for the Web Directory Map feature. It is not required for all the other features provided on the CD-ROM. |
